Toys For Bob Wants to Bring Back Banjo-Kazooie

    Guh-huh?!

In a recent interview, Toys for Bob Co-Studio Head and Creative Director Paul Yan expressed his desire to resurrect the Banjo-Kazooie franchise. The developers previously worked on Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

Currently, Toys for Bob are working on a new game with Xbox. Yan states that the new title is “in the thick of development. The team is very thrilled about how the experience is shaping up. This game is big and ambitious and pushes our craft to new heights.” Yan also states that the studio will share more about this new game “when the time is right.”

Following that, when asked which franchise Toys for Bob would want to work on next, he says “One company we’d like to work with is one we’re already working with — Team Xbox! They’ve been a great partner and they also have a very interesting roster of characters that Toys for Bob could have a lot of fun with. The honey bear is the first one that comes to mind — I think we can all agree Banjo‘s been hibernating long enough, right?”

The last Banjo-Kazooie game released in 2008 in the form of the controversial Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. The original games have released on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service and the duo has made an appearance as part of the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Considering Toys for Bob’s ability to resurrect beloved IP, it would be the perfect developers to bring Banjo-Kazooie back into the limelight.
