Toys For Bob has officially announced that they have secured a publishing deal with Xbox. They will be working together on the former’s “next game.”
Toys for Bob’s recent announcement is likely in part due to all of the recent layoffs over the last few weeks and months. Over the last few months, several major companies have laid off hundreds, if not thousands, of workers from across their entire gaming division. Examples include Microsoft, Bungie, Embracer Group, Behaviour Interactive, Riot Games, Sega, Sony, EA, and more. The recent layoffs will likely encourage more companies to take Toys for Bob’s approach and go fully independent.
Toys For Bob Confirms Publishing Partnership with Xbox
In a recent post, Toys For Bob has announced that they have begun a publishing deal with Xbox. Xbox will help publish Toys For Bob’s currently unannounced game. In the post, they state the following: “We’re excited to announce that we’ll be partnering with Xbox to publish our next new game. We’re still very early in development, so you might not hear from us for a bit – but know that we’re working hard on an experience we’re so sooo inspired about! Can’t wait to share more.”

Previously, Activision had reduced Toys For Bob to working on the Call of Duty franchise rather than the games that really put them on the map, such as 2020’s Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Now, they will be able to make the type of games they want to make. Only time will tell if the company is working on a new Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, or something else entirely. Toys For Bob and Xbox will likely reveal more in the coming months.
