Konami Digital Entertainment announced Shine Post: Be Your Idol! is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5 in Japan as a launch title. The new game is based on Konami and Straight Edge’s Shine Post multimedia project.
Shine Post: Be Your Idol! was first announced in October 2021, but it underwent many changes at Konami’s development team over the years. Initially, the game was planned to release on mobile platforms. In January 2025, Konami confirmed that the developers were switching the game’s development from mobile to consoles, under the leadership of director Akihiro Ishihara.
The Shine Post anime premiered in July 2022 on the AnichU programming block on NTV. HIDIVE streamed the anime, and Sentai Filmworks released the anime on home video in August 2023. The Shine Post multimedia project includes the Nintendo Switch 2 game, a manga in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive, and concerts.
