Chapter 20 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex is definitely one of the best chapters to come out of this manga so far. The situation between Konohamaru and Matsuri grows dangerous, and something new awakens within Sarada. While we have to wait another month for the next chapter, let’s talk about the chaos that transpired within this chapter.
Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 20 starts with Konohamaru desperately trying to be nice to Matsuri so that he can calm her down. She’s now confused because she feels Konohamaru is dangerous, but she also desires him. These feelings mixed together give Matsuri the feeling of wanting to devour him. It also looks bad for the other squad fighting Ryu because Araya and Mitsuki get captured. Ryu threatens the team to tell him where Boruto and Kashin Koji are, or else he will kill them. Yodo tells Sarada to give Ryu the information so that they all can be safe, but Sarada refuses. Yodo understands though, as the desire to always have your friend’s back even if the rest of the world hates him is relatable to her. Despite this, Yodo offered to cooperate with Ryu to find Boruto as long as her friends were left alone.
Sarada Awakens Her True Power in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 20
However, Ryu declines the offer and stabs Yodo through her body, making her bleed out. Sarada worriedly runs to her, but Yodo has something very important to say. She mentions that she feels there is a strong power that Sarada is holding back for some reason. Whatever the reason is, she wants Sarada to understand that it’s okay to use it to protect your loved ones in dire situations. All of a sudden, Ryu’s iron sand starts getting sucked into this weird-looking black hole. Mitsuki, confused at what’s happening, looks over at Sarada and sees that she has activated her Mangekyo Sharingan. After seeing her newly acquired Sharingan, I assume that the black hole might be a mixture of an Amaterasu and a Kamui. We’ve yet to see any official confirmation of what it is, but it looks cool!
In Konohamaru’s situation, he finally manages to calm Matsuri down and asks her to hold his hand. But this allows him to pull off a Giant Rasengan up-close while remembering Shikamaru’s plan. It all happens in a beautiful panel where after Shikamaru says, “Betray them”, Konohamaru begins the impact of the Giant Rasengan.
However, the Giant Rasengan didn’t completely kill Matsuri and she goes for the attack. This then goes back to Jura, once again, talking about the dangers of love. It’s because of love that Matsuri got careless and didn’t devour Konohamaru quickly. Likewise, because of love, Konohamaru fell prey to doubt and didn’t ultimately try to kill Matsuri. The more that Jura learns about human emotions, the scarier this character gets. What will he do to the ninja world based on this information? Who will be his next target? Only time will tell.
