Monolith Soft is best known for its Xenoblade Chronicles series, which has been a massive success on Nintendo Switch. As of November 5, 2024, the series has surpassed over 7.17 million copies sold on Switch alone. Currently, the next game in the series, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is set to release later this month. Beyond Xenoblade Chronicles, Monolith Soft and some of its employees have acted as a key support studio for Nintendo across some of its biggest releases. The team assisted Nintendo EPD3 in the development of both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which both serve as some of the biggest games on Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the studio assisted Nintendo EPD5 with development of Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
