During yesterday’s investors meeting, Nintendo revealed that the Xenoblade Chronicles series has sold over 7.17 million copies on Nintendo Switch. This includes Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This is an additional 610,000 copies since the last update in June 2023. According to the graphic, prior to the Nintendo Switch, the Xenoblade series had sold just 1.41 million units across Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Just last week, Nintendo and Monolith Soft revealed Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, a new and updated version of the 2015 Wii U title. The release will feature visual enhancements alongside “newly added story elements and more.” Lao is seen at the very end of the trailer with a mysterious figure on the beach, which fans of the Wii U release will immediately begin to speculate about.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is yet another incredible experience from Monolith Soft that will receive new life on Switch. The game has a soundtrack composed by legendary composer Hiroyuki Sawano, known for his work on Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, and more, which gives it a unique atmosphere as you explore the massive map.
Nintendo also confirmed tonight that the Nintendo Switch successor will be backwards compatible with Nintendo Switch titles and Nintendo Switch Online (NSO). For more Xenoblade Chronicles content, be sure to check out our original YouTube series, Beyond The Conduit!
