Square Enix announced Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is available again for Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop with a permanent price drop to $39.99.

On February 1, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition was made unavailable for purchase due to minor updates being made to the game’s eShop listing. Players who already purchased the game on Nintendo Switch were not affected, as they could still re-download the game at any time.

The most recent game in the prolific RPG series is Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which was developed by ARTDINK and Square Enix’s Team Asano. They’re also working on Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, with series creator Yuji Horii continuing his role as supervisor. These remakes will bring the entire Erdrick trilogy to the modern era, while vastly upgrading its visuals in a way that stays true to the classic RPGs.

If you’re interested in learning more about the remake, Final Weapon had the opportunity to preview Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and spent time with both the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions. Additionally, Final Weapon reviewed Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake ahead of launch to see what the entire experience offers.

Lastly, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
