Monster Hunter Wilds Reaches All-Time Peak of 1.3 Million Steam Players in Just 24 Hours

The PC port is mired with technical issues, however.

Monster Hunter Wilds reached an impressive all-time peak on Steam with 1,307,976 players on the platform, according to SteamDB charts. This milestone also serves as the 24-hour peak, considering the game just launched on February 28.

However, the new all-time peak for Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam is accompanied by thousands of negative reviews on the platform. This is due to players encountering technical issues with the PC port, and many are citing a lack of optimization.

After launch, players can expect new limited-time event quests featuring new special armor as rewards. Post-launch updates are also planned for Monster Hunter Wilds, including the first free title update planned in April. The title update will introduce the returning monster Mizutsune and new event quests. A second title update will bring a new monster and more event quests in summer 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam alongside 15 GB day one update. Final Weapon gave Monster Hunter Wilds a 4/5 score, noting that it’s an excellent entry in the long-running series and a worthy follow-up to Capcom’s most successful game ever. Despite the performance issues, Capcom delivers one of the best-feeling combat systems in Monster Hunter Wilds along with the franchise’s first legitimate story mode.

Fans can celebrate the launch of the new game with Part 2 of the Monster Hunter Now and Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration, which lasts until March 31. During the event, Chatacabra from Monster Hunter Wilds will start appearing in desert habitats after completing a limited-time Urgent Quest. Rewards from the collaboration include an exclusive Seikret Rider layered outfit, Weapon Refining Parts, Armor Refining Parts, and Zenny.
