SEGA recently filed a new trademark for “Sonic Blitz,” which could be a new game. The trademark was filed on January 29 in Japan and made public on February 6 (JST).
The Sonic Blitz trademark is not indicative of a game announcement happening imminently. However, it appears that SEGA may be preparing multiple Sonic titles alongside Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which is coming soon to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
The latest game in the franchise, Sonic X Shadow Generations, surpassed two million copies sold worldwide. Sonic x Shadow Generations is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Final Weapon had the opportunity to preview Sonic X Shadow Generations at Summer Game Fest 2024 Play Days, and we reviewed the full game.
In addition, the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack is available now for Sonic X Shadow Generations. This new DLC lets players explore modern-day Shibuya as Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, voiced by Keanu Reeves himself. The level is accessible from the White Space in Shadow Generations, which is Shadow’s campaign.
Lastly, SEGA recently released the Sonic X Shadow Generations Perfect | Reflections Original Soundtrack digitally on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services. The soundtrack includes Dark Beginning’s “Without You”. In Japan, the Sonic X Shadow Generations Perfect | Reflections Original Soundtrack is available in a physical two-disc set for 3,850 yen (tax included).
