Bandai Namco has announced that they’ll be opening their first “interactive” store in New York on February 28. The store will be located in Brooklyn, specifically, at Japan Village, 52 35th Street, Floor 2, Brooklyn, NY 11232. The store will be divided into ten different departments, based on the different Bandai Namco brands. They will offer collectibles, card games, figures, and everyday items.
The ten divisions are as follows:
- BANDAI CANDY OFFICIAL SHOP ~COLLECTION~
- BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby SHOP
- Gashapon Bandai Official Shop
- MegaHouse Official Store
- Namco
- ONE PIECE CARD GAME Official Shop
- PAC-MAN SELECT
- Sun-Star Stationary Shop
- Tamagotchi! Shop
- TAMASHII NATIONS in Cross Store Entry Models
Currently, there are eight Bandai Namco Cross Store locations in Japan. The company opened its first Bandai Namco Cross Store outside of Japan in Camden, London in August 2023. It also opened smaller shops in the United Kingdom, specifically in Victoria Place, in November 2023. They’d later open others in Ealing, Brighton’s North Street, and Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre in December 2023. The locations in Victoria Place and Meadowhall are no longer open.
Recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment filed a new trademark for Tales of the Abyss, which could suggest that a remaster is on the way. If so, a Tales of the Abyss remaster would be part of the franchise’s “two-year-long” 30th anniversary project, as producer Yusuke Tomizawa previously teased.
The Tales of the Abyss trademark was filed on Thursday, January 16, according to the official filing. It went public on Friday, January 24. Bandai Namco didn’t make any 30th anniversary-related announcements at the time of this writing, but it’s possible that game announcements could be made at Tales of Festival 2025 this June.
Lastly, the Bandai Namco store will open in New York on February 28.
