Shortly after its launch, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth achieved an all-time peak of 40,564 players on Steam, according to SteamDB charts. The concurrent player count of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth far surpasses those of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy XVI, making it one of Square Enix’s most successful PC ports.
In comparison, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade reached an all-time peak of 13,803on Steam, and Final Fantasy XVI reached an all-time peak of 27,508 after its launch four months ago. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth also exceeded Final Fantasy XV’s all-time peak of 29,498.
Moreover, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is experiencing a resurgence with 9,139 players during its 24-hour peak, which is due in part to the release of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Twin Pack. Additionally, a 30% discount for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on Steam and Epic Games Store until February 5. The discount applies to all editions of the game, including the Twin Pack.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth battle director Teruki Endo will be hosting a game design panel during the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC). The panel is titled The Challenges in Developing an Innovative Battle System for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth. During the panel, Endo will go in depth about challenged involved with designing the battle system of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
