SEGA has launched the SEGA Account service, allowing fans to create online profiles and enjoy a various of benefits while playing SEGA and ATLUS games and using their online services.
Creating a SEGA Account also signs the user up to receive the latest news about SEGA and ATLUS titles, events, and promotions. SEGA Accounts also give users access to exclusive bonuses and the ability to link accounts on various gaming platforms. At a later date, users will be able to view their in-game records for the SEGA and ATLUS games they’ve played.
Creating an account and fulfilling specified required by March 8, 2025, awards the user with the Kazuma Kiryu DLC costume for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. It also appears that Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is one of the featured games, so it will likely receive SEGA Account-specific bonuses soon.
A lot of the branding for SEGA Account is centered around Sonic the Hedgehog, unsurprisingly. A “coming soon” logo can be seen depicting the blue blur, so it’s only a matter of time before Sonic titles support the account service.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii takes place six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and focuses on Goro Majima. Waking up on an island without his memories, Majima is saved by a young boy named Noah Rich. After coming to his senses, Majima sets out on an adventure in the Hawaiian waters with Noah to reclaim his memories and uncover treasure. Moreover, the game explores the aftermath of Infinite Wealth, including clean-up at Nele Island.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases February 21 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders include the Ichiban Pirate Crew Set and Ichiban Special Outfit Set.
