Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 18 Review – Mission Falls Apart

    Trouble down in Kazegakure!

Chapter 18 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex takes the plot in a dangerous direction, where our main characters are put in rough situations. Kawaki and Amado both clash against each other due to different goals, and the Konohamaru mission starts to fall apart. However, there’s also an interesting development that occurs at the end of the chapter.

What Happened in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 18?

The chapter starts where Chapter 17 finished, with Sumire getting a glimpse of the events that happened after Kawaki pinned Amado. At this point, Kawaki is demanding Amado to change his settings and strengthen his power, or else he will kill him. Kawaki’s threats and physical strength become too much of a pain for Amado, so he resorts to using a shutdown code on Kawaki. This makes him unconscious for a while, so Amado asks Sumire to help him carry Kawaki to the nearby bed.

Kawaki wakes up a bit later, and he and Amado engage in a “civil” talk. Amado agrees to strengthen Kawaki for the fight against the Divine Trees, but only on one condition: implant Akhebi’s vessel with a Karma. Amado’s daughter’s data is instilled into Kawaki’s karma, so this technically would be the perfect opportunity to resurrect her.

However, Kawaki doesn’t fully agree to this deal. For one, if she turns out to be an Ohtsutsuki when she’s resurrected, he will kill her. And two, he won’t agree to the deal anyway because that would potentially add another other-worldly threat. Kawaki feels that powering him up is a priority, and he will not resurrect Akhebi until all the current Divine Trees are defeated. But of course, Amado isn’t having it. It would be risky to boost Kawaki’s power, and if Kawaki dies, Amado can’t have his daughter back either. Kawaki doesn’t care about his survival though, as all he wants is the potential to kill the foes, making Amado and Sumire uncomfortable.

    Kazegakure Mission Falling Apart

Going back to the Konohamaru mission, both teams continue their strategy of separating Matsuri and Ryu. Yet, there seems to be a big problem here, as Yodo wants to kill Ryu so badly. Ryu starts to notice this as the mission goes on, and the characters try to calm her down so that things don’t go terribly. On the other hand, Konohamaru and Matsuri talk amongst each other. Due to Matsuri being the Divine Tree counterpart of Moegi, she keeps expressing her love for Konohamaru. Feeling uncomfortable about it, Konohamaru asks her to not call him “Konohamaru-chan”, and this is where things get a little ugly. In short, Matsuri quickly realizes that Konohamaru feels uncomfortable about it because he likes Moegi. This causes her to have an uproar and threaten Konohamaru, feeling jealous.

This isn’t the only horrible event that happened in the mission. As Sarada and their group try to find Boruto, Sarada brings up a point that maybe Ryu could use his Thorn Bulb to lure Boruto out. He makes an attempt to do so, but Yodo tries to quickly grab the Bulb the chance she gets. This causes Ryu to use his iron sand to stop Yodo and go for the kill. The surprise at the end of the chapter is that Araya uses Load Stone – Sand Sealing Blade jutsu to counterattack Ryu. I’m sure this will prove to be a useful technique in the next chapter.
