P.A. Works announced that the anime studio will be producing the first anime film adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland children’s novel. The anime film’s title is Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland-, or With Alice in Wonderland -Dive in Wonderland- in English.
A new trailer for the Alice in Wonderland anime film continues that it will open on August 29 in Japanese theaters. A western release was not confirmed by P.A. Works, however.

Nanoka Hara stars as Rise, a modern-day girl that stumbles into Wonderland and meets Alice, who’s voiced by Maika Pugh. Toshiya Shinohara is directing the new Alice in Wonderland anime film at P.A. Works. Yūko Kakihara is the film’s script writer. Shochiku and TBS are coordinating the film’s production.
Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland novel focuses on Alice Liddell. Alice follows a talking white rabbit into a rabbit hole and enters the strange Wonderland. She’s taken aback by the world’s strange rules and denizens. The book is one of the most influential works of all time, inspirating games, anime, manga, and other works of pop culture and literature.
