The Pokémon Company and Niantic announced that players will be able to encounter Black Kyurem and White Kyurem during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event. Players attending the events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City will be the first to encounter these rare new forms through Pokémon Fusion, unlock new attacks, discover new enigma Field Research and more.
In Pokémon GO, Kyurem can fuse with Zekrom using Volt Fusion Energy to become Black Kyurem or fuse with Reshiram using Blaze Fusion Energy to become White Kyurem. Lucky players may even encounter a Shiny version of either form.
Fusing a Zekrom with a Kyurem that knows the Charged Attack Glaciate will transform Glaciate into the Charged Attack Freeze Shock. On the other hand, Fusing Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows the Charged Attack Glaciate will transform Glaciate into the Charged Attack Ice Burn.
Beloved Pokémon from the Unova region will be gathering for the biggest Pokémon GO Tour ever during Pokémon GO Dual Destiny season. Players will soon discover new stories inspired by Pokémon Black and White, including Pokémon Black and White Version 2. In addition, there will be new Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks awards encounters with Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White Version 2.
An event-exclusive Special Research Story will be available after the Unova event in New Taipei City and Los Angeles. Players around may team up to “end the chaos” following Professor Willow’s discoveries in the Global event.
Pokémon GO Tour: Unova will take place from February 21 to 23, 2025 in New Taipei City, Taiwan and in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The Global event will follow up on March 1 to 2, 2025 for all players, and the official event page is live here.
