At the end of the first season of the Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime series, a new teaser trailer revealed that the anime will continue in Season 2. A new key visual was revealed on the anime’s Twitter/X account as well.

The Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime premiered on October 6, 2024 on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. Risa Shimizu plays the role of Mami Kirara, alongside Yu Sasahara as Puniru, Junya Enoki as Yūsuke Nanpa, Yumiri Hanamori as Alice Okanega, and Shuichiro Umeda as Kotaro Kawaii.

Maeda-kun wrote Puniru wa Kawaii Slime in 2019. The manga adaptation is still ongoing to this day in Weekly CoroCoro Comic. Moreover, a new Puniru wa Kawaii Slime game is in development for Nintendo Switch.

The story of Puniru wa Kawaii Slime follows the daily adventures of Kotaro, a young boy, and Puniru, the slime he created when he was in elementary school. For the last seven years, Kotaro and Puniru have been great friends, but now that he’s a second year student at junior high, Kotaro has discovered that Puniru can take on the shape of a beautiful and free-spirited girl, and her wild behavior causes him no end of trouble.
