Amazon Prime has announced, via a new article from Variety, that Secret Level Season 2 has been greenlit. The announcement comes just a few hours after the last batch of episodes for the first season aired on Prime Video. The full season is available now on the streaming service.
According to the article from Variety, Secret Level “achieved the most-watched animated series debut of all time for the streamer within its first week, though exact viewership numbers were not provided.” Further, based on measurement from Luminate, “the series was watched for 155.3 million minutes in the U.S. during its first week of availability, which translates to roughly 1.4 million views when divided by its 109-minute runtime.”
The series, produced by Tim Miller and Blur Studios, contains several episodes that each focus on a different gaming/media franchise. The franchises in question include the following:
- Armored Core
- Concord
- Crossfire
- Dungeons & Dragons
- Exodus
- Honor of Kings
- Mega Man
- New World: Aeternum
- PAC-MAN
- various PlayStation Studios games
- Sifu
- Spelunky
- The Outer Worlds
- Unreal Tournament
- Warhammer 40,000
The Honor of Kings episode introduces a new character to the game’s universe, Yi Xing. It tells of his journey from “learning the highly strategic game of Weiqi (known as Go outside China), as a child, to his mastery of the game and how he must use his skills to win the most important match of his life and save the city of Chang’an.” Aleks Le plays the role of Yi Xing.
The cast also includes other beloved voice talents such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridge, Claudia Doumit, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Clive Standen, Laura Bailey, and Michael Beach.
