At The Game Awards 2024, Digital Extremes announced Warframe: 1999 will launch on December 13. The latest chapter of Warframe brings a Quest full of new characters, the Cyte-09 Warframe, four new mission types, the first fully voiced line of transforming cosmetic skins, new enemy factions, and so much more.
Additionally, Digital Extremes announced a collaboration between Balatro and Warframe is now available as part of the Friends of Jimbo 3 update. Players are able to customize the King, Queen, and Jack cards with Warframe’s iconic Excalibur, Mag, and Volt.

A 33-page prequel webcomic is now available for free on the official Warframe website, Tapas Canvas, Imgur, and Webtoon. The novel tells the tale of six misfits that were ruined by the experiments of Albrecht Entrati, the infamous scientist. This is the story of the Protoframes that players will see in Warframe: 1999. The comic book’s cover art is available as a free decoration for in-game landing crafts in the Warframe marketplace.
Warframe: 1999 sends players travel back to the 20th century to discover a grungy world filled with secrets. A cast of six different Protoframes head to this era to track down Dr. Entrati before 2000 hits on New Year’s Eve. These Protoframes are voiced by Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3), Kevin Afghani (Super Mario Bros. Wonder), Melissa Medina (Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail), Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge (Forza Horizon 5), Alpha Takahashi (Cyberpunk 2077), and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI).
Lastly, Warframe is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
