SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced Project Century, a new action game set in 1915 Japan. Platforms and a release date for Project Century were not announced yet.
SEGA president and COO Shuji Utsumi said, “This year we are proud to reveal Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, a completely new project in the Virtua Fighter series, and a brand-new concept from RGG Studio that for now we’re calling Project Century. This is in addition to last year’s reveals of Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and more. We will continue to look for opportunities to add to our incredible publishing lineup in the future.”
Moreover, RGG Studio plans to hold events and make several announcements leading up to the Yakuza / Like a Dragon 20th anniversary on December 8, 2025. In addition, RGG Studio is planning to sell various types of merchandise and content for Japan, Asia, and the west starting in 2025. One of the major releases celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary will be Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launches February 21, 2025.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii takes place six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and focuses on Goro Majima. Waking up on an island without his memories, Majima is saved by a young boy named Noah Rich. After coming to his senses, Majima sets out on an adventure in the Hawaiian waters with Noah to reclaim his memories and uncover treasure. The game also explores the aftermath of Infinite Wealth, including clean-up at Nele Island.
Lastly, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases on February 21, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
