The Pokémon Company has revealed a new expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. The expansion, titled Mythical Island, will release on December 17. Further, the game has passed 60 million downloads since its launch on October 30.
Featuring the Mythical Pokémon Mew, the Mythical Island expansion invites Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket players to discover new and unique card illustrations featuring various new Pokémon. Players can also explore new approaches to deck building, enjoy expanded battling experiences, and show off their collections with new binder and display board covers.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game initially released in Japan in 1996, just a few months after the release of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. Over the years, the game has become just as beloved as the main Pokémon game series, inspiring a generation of card collectors and even getting its own web series last year. Nintendo also released the Game Boy version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game on the virtual console in 2023.
