Developer Live Wire announced a Nintendo Switch version of CAVE Interactive’s bullet hell shoot ’em up DoDonPachi True Death will release on December 19 in Japan. The digital release will cost 4,400 yen, and it will only support Japanese, meaning English is not a language option.
DoDonPachi True Death, also known as DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou, launched on April 20, 2012 for arcades in Japan. An Xbox 360 release followed on May 30, 2013, followed by arcades worldwide in November 2020 by exA-Arcadia. A worldwide release of DoDonPachi True Death for Nintendo Switch was not announced.

Previously, developer M2 released CAVE Interactive-developed shoot ’em up DoDonPachi Blissful Death Re:Incarnation on December 7, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The title was previously announced as “DoDonPachi Blissful Death M2 ShotTriggers Edition“. It includes a Super Easy mode, M2 Gadgets, and arcade challenges. Additionally, the updated game features the “highest precision fine tuning yet.”
The DoDonPachi Blissful Death Re:Incarnation digital edition released at a price of 4,950 yen, and the physical edition costs 7,480 yen. Moreover, a limited edition was available for 10,780 yen. Limited Edition contents include a physical copy, exclusive packaging featuring artwork by Junya Inoue, developer interview materials collection, a reprint of the arcade instruction card, the official soundtrack, and a 25x25mm hyper item pin badge.
