My Hero Academia: You’re Next DVD Release Includes New Anime Short

    Titled "A Piece of Cake."

The official website for My Hero Academia has announced that the DVD release of My Hero Academia: You’re Next will include a new anime short. The short is titled “A Piece of Cake” and will be available with the “Plus Ultra” edition. The anime short will adapt the bonus booklet given to the film’s audience members in Japan.

It depicts Deku and the rest of U.A. High School’s Hero Class 1-A just before the film’s story. The voice cast reunited to record the dialogue for the short. Further, the DVD and Blu-Ray releases of You’re Next will be available on February 19.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is the fourth movie in the franchise. Kohei Horikoshi serves as character designer and chief supervisor for the film, which follows an original story. BONES animated the movie, and TOHO is distributing it in Japanese theaters.

The voice cast of the My Hero Academia anime series returns for the new film. Moreover, Mamoru Miyano and Meru Nukumi play the roles of original characters Giulio Gandini and Anna Scervino in the Japanese dub, respectively. My Hero Academia: You’re Next features the theme song “Homunculus” by Vaundy.

My Hero Academia Season 7 premiered on May 4 with English subs, and the English dub premiered just a few weeks later on May 18 via Crunchyroll. Here’s an overview of My Hero Academia from Crunchyroll:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.
