Street Fighter 6 is releasing a new balance patch update on December 2. The developers note that while this patch won’t be as big as the Akuma one, all characters will receive changes. The patch notes will be published when maintenance starts on December 1 at 8PM PT.
The recent balance patch that Street Fighter 6 received was update 9.24.2024. This patch contained balance adjustments to some characters whose playstyles were previously unchanged, including a playable Terry Bogard. Moreover, the 9.24.2024 update introduced Replay Takeover and Virtual Rival. Replay Takeover gives players full control of their replays to correct mistakes in matches. Virtual Rival puts players against a unique AI to work on your weaknesses.
Street Fighter 6 initially released on June 2, 2023. Since then, they have released five DLC characters: Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, Akuma, M. Bison, and Terry Bogard. Recently, they announced the second season pass, which includes M. Bison, Terry Bogard, and Mai from the King of Fighters series, and Elena from Street Fighter: 3rd Strike and Street Fighter IV. Mai releases in Winter 2025, whereas Elena releases in Spring 2025.
Additionally, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 sales have reached over 4 million units globally. The company thanks all of the players for helping it reach this milestone. SF6 will continue to have more content in the future, and Capcom will continue to host more events.
