Mass Effect Amazon Prime Adaptation Announced

The TV show will be produced by Daniel Casey.

According to Variety, a TV show adaptation of Mass Effect is in development for Amazon Prime Video. Daniel Casey, previously known for his work on Fast & Furious 9, will write and produce the upcoming adaptation. Karim Zreik will executive produce under his Cedar Tree Productions banner, with Ari Arad (Borderlands, Ghost in the Shell, Uncharted) and EA’s Michael Gamble also executive producing. Cedar Tree is currently under an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios.

The announcement of the adaptation likely comes in the wake of the massively successful Fallout TV series. In a recent interview during New York Comic-Con 2024, Leslie Uggams, an actress known for the Fallout show and Deadpool movie series, has confirmed that Fallout season 2 will start filming in November 2024. While the release date for the second season is unknown, based on the recent announcement and a further production update, season 2 of Fallout will likely air in 2025-2026.

Lastly, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game’s Steam page describes it as follows:

One person is all that stands between humanity and the greatest threat it’s ever faced. Relive the legend of Commander Shepard in the highly acclaimed Mass Effect trilogy with the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Includes single-player base content and over 40 DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 games, including promo weapons, armors and packs — remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD.

Experience an amazingly rich and detailed universe where your decisions have profound consequences on the action and the outcome.
