PLAYISM and developer Area-ZERO announced Touhou Project “high-speed aerial” action game Valkyrie of Phantasm will exit early access and fully release on October 18 for PC via Steam. Console versions were not announced, however.
Before Valkyrie of Phantasm exits early access, PLAYISM gave fans another sneak peek into the version 1.0 release in the new trailer below:
The game’s version 1.0 release will include all previously released updates and features, including full Japanese voice-overs, Network Mode implementation, and much more.
Valkyrie of Phantasm’s voice cast includes the following cast members:
- Reimu Hakurei and Volvarior – VA: Kana Ichinose
- Marisa Kirisame and Sinolva – VA: Mariko Honda
- Youmu Konpaku and Hughild – VA: Chiharu
- Patchouli Knowledge and Reiona – VA: Harumi Sakurai
- Remilia Scarlet and Eirauor – VA: Nina Hanamiya
- Cirno and Fannalva – VA: Sayumi Suzushiro
- Hong Meiling and Mundrior – VA: Ai Yamamoto
- Clownpiece and Alvahel – VA: Hikaru Tono
Moreover, Valkyrie of Phantasm’s Network Mode has been updated to include 2v2 team matches and online room matching. The latest update also brought new Steam achievements and music tracks.
According to the developers, there are several more updates being worked on. Players can expect a new single-player mode, more battle stages, new spells, and system/balance improvements.
Valkyrie of Phantasm entered early access on October 23, 2022 on Steam as the next major Touhou Project game at the time. Nearly two years after the initial release, the title will continue to receive free DLC characters in updates after the game’s full release.
