343 Industries has now rebranded themselves to Halo Studios. Alongside the announcement, the company has released a new video teasing new Halo projects. The video includes a focus on Unreal Engine 5. It shows several popular environments and characters from the series in this engine. It also hints at the inclusion of the Flood, the popular enemies that first made their debut in the original Halo back in 2001.
Based on the shots of Master Chief within the video, the upcoming project is likely the previously rumored Halo: Combat Evolved reboot. The rumor states that the game will release on the PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X|S. Only time will tell if this rumor is true. It’s worth noting that the twenty-fifth anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved is in 2026. Halo Studios will likely confirm more about the upcoming projects soon.

Recently, 343 Industries announced that they will be adding a 3rd person mode to Halo Infinite in November. The new perspective will be available to access within multiplayer modes such as Slayer, Juggernaut, Firefight, and more. It is currently unknown if the mode will be available will be available within the campaign. The update will launch in November 2024.
343 and Microsoft initially released Halo Infinite in 2021. The game received critical acclaim yet was panned at launch for lacking features and modes. Over the last three years, 343 has slowly added more and more content through the game’s seasonal layout. While the seasonal layout has disappeared from the game, new updates are released semi-regularly.
The entire Halo franchise to date is available on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
