Nihon Falcom is currently in talks with XSEED Games, NIS America, and other publishers regarding the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, according to RPG Site’s James Galizio. These discussions will likely determine the game’s publisher and distribution for regions outside of Japan, where Falcom is self-publishing the remake.

The initial reveal trailer for Trails in the Sky the 1st and its English screenshots implied that the game’s localization is based on the Trails in the Sky FC script from XSEED Games. Exact details about the game’s western release are not clear yet, but we should learn more in the coming months.

The remake is being made is being made entirely in-house at Falcom. PC and PlayStation versions of the game are to be determined. According to the Falcom website, the game is currently only scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch in 2025.

Thus far, The Legend of Heroes: Trails series has sold 8.5 million copies worldwide. The Trails series reached this milestone just one month after reaching eight million copies sold, which Falcom announced on August 9.

The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria-, the next game in the Trails series, releases on September 26 in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. As the prophesized 120X date draws near, various heroes are drawn to Calvard. This includes returning Class VII members like protagonist Rean Schwarzer, Crow Armbrust, and Altina Orion.
