SEGA released the new story and “Feel the Rush” trailers for Sonic X Shadow Generations at the Sonic Central digital event, highlighting the game’s new Shadow standalone campaign.
In the new Sonic X Shadow Generations campaign, Shadow must revisit his past and overcome the Black Doom. He will unlock new Doom Powers that will allow him to save the world and move forward from his past ordeals, including the returning Mephiles. Moreover, Sonic vs Shadow battle appears to have been teased in PlayStation’s Feel the Rush trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations.

When a disturbing omen stirs Shadow’s memories, he must relive his past. Black Doom—Shadow’s nemesis—reemerges and threatens to take over the world. Shadow must journey into his past, confront his painful memories, and unlock new dark powers to save the world.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will launch on October 25 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition are available now until October 6 at the Limited Run Games Store. The Collector’s Edition releases in 2025 for $249.99, featuring an exclusive Sonic and Shadow SEGA Dreamcast statue and additional physical items.
The Sonic Jam Legacy Skin for Sonic X Shadow Generations is inspired by Sonic’s first 3D appearance in the 1997 SEGA Saturn game. Those who sign up for the SEGA newsletter before November 1 will receive their DLC code and instructions after the game is released.
