The official website for the Gintama anime announced screenings for the Gintama on Theater 2D: Kintama Arc compilation film will open on November 22 in Japan. The screenings will be available for a three-week window in Japanese theaters.
As previously announced, Gintama on Theater 2D: Kintama Arc adapts the events of the anime’s Kintama arc. A new key visual for the compilation film was released in the official website:
Hideki Sorachi’s popular Gintama series initially started in 2004 with a manga. It ran all the way until June 2021. In March 2023, the anime’s staff confirmed an adaptation for the 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei spin-off novel. At Jump Festa 2024, they revealed a 2025 premiere window for the anime spin-off as fans finished catching up with Gintama on Theater 2D: Baragaki Arc in theaters.
The first of the new Gintama compilation films, Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen compilation film is part of the Gintama franchise’s 20th anniversary plans. This also includes Gintama Exhibition – Hatachi no Tsudoi. Fans can also expect updates on 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei in the near future.
