Yakuza Kiwami Coming to Nintendo Switch on October 24

    It's finally happening.

Yakuza Kiwami, the remake of the first Yakuza/Like a Dragon title, is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 24! This marks the very first time that a title in the series will be available on Nintendo Switch, potentially paving the way forward for more Yakuza titles in the future.

As the first game in the series, Yakuza Kiwami makes an excellent entry point, so new players can jump in without any previous knowledge. Yakuza Kiwami will cost $19.99 for Nintendo Switch digitally in the Nintendo eShop. It’s also worth noting that Yakuza Kiwami for Switch will launch alongside the Like a Dragon: Yakuza Prime Video series.

A description of Yakuza Kiwami can be found below via Steam:

1995, Kamurocho… Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, takes the fall for the murder of a crime boss to protect his sworn brother, Akira Nishikiyama, and his childhood friend, Yumi.

2005… Akira Nishikiyama has become a changed man. Yumi is nowhere to be found. Ten billion yen has gone missing from the Tojo Clan’s coffers, putting the organization on the brink of civil war. And Kazuma Kiryu is released from prison to a world he no longer recognizes.

With enhanced gameplay, an expanded cinematic story, the return of the battle styles from Yakuza 0, more nightlife spots, and re-recorded audio by the series cast, Yakuza Kiwami is the ultimate and most “extreme” version of the original vision of the series.
