Digital Extremes released new gameplay footage for free-to-play open-world fantasy adventure game Soulframe at TennoCon 2024, alongside new details.
Firstly, Digital Extremes notes that the first “narratives threads” of Soulframe comes in Warsongs Prologue, which introduces the game’s world, characters, and beasts. Acting as the game’s first Fable, the Warsongs Prologue depicts the story of the Envoy, whose goal involves healing the Ode curse to restore the forgotten culture and memories to the beings of Alca.
The latest Soulframe gameplay footage also shows Verminia, the Rat Witch. Verminia can enhance the customization of cosmetics while assisting in the creation of potions, elixirs, and other tinctures for the family of Ancestors in the Nightfold. An encounter with a massive armored bear, Bromius, was also teased. In addition, the new enemy, Nimrod, was shown off. This is a towering enemy that can manipulate thunder and lightning with a devastating tesla-coiled staff.

“The closed testing we’ve been doing with our community has been so impactful; we’ve learned a ton, and we continue to listen and learn each day,” said Soulframe creative director Geoff Crookes. “We’re hoping to open this up to a lot more players this fall. Everything is still rough around the edges, but that’s part of our style – the feedback is important to us, and we really do iterate on it regularly.”
