When Glorious launched its KeyCapsules program with the GPBT Sketch set, I knew I had to jump on and see what the team could deliver for mechanical keyboards. The end result is a premium and monthly set of keycaps that combine aesthetically pleasing designs with durable, high-quality materials. The second in line for the KeyCapsules series is the new GPBT Kabuto keycap set, which comes just months away from the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Limited to just 1,000 units, the GPBT Kabuto keycap set from Glorious is fashioned after Feudal Japan’s finest warriors, with blood red and pitch black hues. The samurai-inspired keycaps ae built with PBT polymer, ensuring a smooth and inviting texture with each key pressed. The limited edition set comes with 142 keycaps, which support ANSI and ISO English. Additionally, the set features Japanese Hiragana text, giving users full range with their set on PC and Mac keyboards.

I was especially pleased with the enter key depicting the dual Chokutō and the keys featuring Samurai headwear. These keys bring additional flair to the set, which perfectly match my black HyperX Alloy Origins Core TKL keyboard. The dye-sublimation printing on each key ensures a consistent finish on each key, so I didn’t feel or notice any imperfections across all 142 keycaps. This also means that the designs on each keycap are very durable, but only time and prolonged use will tell for sure.
Glorious KeyCapsules GPBT Kabuto Leaves a Great Impression
For only $59.99, the GPBT Kabuto set provides a seamless typing and gaming experience, including in recent titles like the popular Zenless Zone Zero action game from HoYoverse and shooters like the ever-popular Call of Duty: Warzone. These high-quality keycaps feel weightless while providing a satisfying press for any switch, which I believe is the most important aspect of this set. Once more, the keycaps are wonderfully designed, with a pleasing aesthetic that caters to those who appreciate Japanese culture and games. As a result, I can certainly recommend a GPBT set for those wanting to add some flair to their keyboard setup.
However, you will need to act fast if you’re interested in the Kabuto set, as it will surely sell out in no time.
