During the Metaphor: ReFantazio ATLUS Exclusive 2 Showcase livestream, director Katsura Hashino confirmed that the Studio Zero-developed RPG will feature the press turn system from the Shin Megami Tensei series. Most notably, it is an evolution of the system that was introduced with Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.
Once more, Metaphor: ReFantazio players must strike enemy weaknesses to gain additional turns in command battles, similarly to the press turn system in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. This may be achieved by equipping one out of 40 Archetypes, analyzing foes, and striking weaknesses to gain additional turn. The Archetypes include the Masked Dancer, the Summoner, and the Berserker. However, the same is true for enemies, as they’re capable of exploiting the party’s weaknesses as well.
