Sony Interactive Entertainment and SHIFT UP announced a free update for Stellar Blade will add a Boss Challenge mode and new nano suits on May 24. The new update will introduce various quality-of-life improvements.
A recent filing confirmed that SHIFT UP is considering a PC version of Stellar Blade, alongside new DLC and a sequel. Collaborations and new gameplay elements for Stellar Blade are also being considered. Due in part to the game’s success, Stellar Blade players can expect multiple updates to arrive as well, including the May 24-due update.
Stellar Blade Boss Challenge Mode Update
The Boss Challenge mode for Stellar Blade puts the player against the 19 bosses from the boss game. Progression in the Boss Challenge requires battle data from bosses that the player previously defeated. Players can also fight bosses on the Hard difficulty setting after they’ve seen the game’s ending.
To start the challenge, players may either load up and use their gear from their playthrough or choose one of several presets. Choosing the minimum preset presents a true challenge, and choosing the maximum preset gives the player more leeway to taunt their boss.
Once the challenge is over, battle data will be automatically analyzed. Players may see metrics like battle time, number of perfect parries and dodges, consumable usage, and more. These metrics may be used to compare the player’s performance with their friends.
Defeating all of the bosses in Boss Challenge mode on Normal difficulty setting unlocks the Neurolink Suit for Eve. Alongside the new Neurolink Suit, players may earn the White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi nano suits in the new update.
The option to always show the compass in the HUD will be added in the new update. Moreover, players will now automatically lock on to the enemy again after switching to ranged attack mode and switching back will locked on, according to PlayStation Blog.
Stellar Blade launched on April 26, 2023 worldwide, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
