Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Daily Demon Video Introduces Tzitzimitl

The Aztec goddess of fear and night.

SEGA and ATLUS have released a new “Daily Demon” video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, introducing the demon Tzitzimitl. This demon was last seen in Soul Hackers 2.

The May 22 Daily Demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance introduced Chironnupu, a sacred beast that warns of impending disaster in Ainu folklore. When it howls loudly from the mountains, it means that calamity is fast approaching. In the language of the Ainu, Chironnupu means “fox.”

Making her return in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, Tzitzimitl is the goddess of fear and the night in Aztec mythology. She constantly attacks the sun and causes disastrous solar eclipses that bring evil and death. She’s believed to be incredibly envious and wicked, demanding a sacrifice every 52 years.
