    G-MODE Corporation has announced that Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu – Tsuioku no Ryuuhyou / Namida no Nipopo Ningyou will launch in Japan on September 12. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

    According to G-MODE Corporation, Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu – Tsuioku no Ryuuhyou / Namida no Nipopo Ningyou is a detective adventure game that released on PC in 1984. In 1987, the game released on the Famicom. The upcoming title will serve as the classic adventure game’s first ever remake.

    G-MODE Corporation has confirmed the release date of Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu – Tsuioku no Ryuuhyou / Namida no Nipopo Ningyou. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on September 12. It will release exclusively in Japan. It is currently unknown if it will be available in the West.     G-MODE Corporation describes the game as follows:

    When the Nipopo doll cries, another dead body appears…One morning, the corpse of a man appears in the waters of Tokyo Bay. The unidentifiable body is of a man estimated around 40 years old. The incident then moves to Hokkaido. To Kushiro, Abashiri, Shiretoko, Monbetsu…The second and third incidents are a chain of murders centered in eastern Hokkaido.

    Includes A Brand-New Story Supervised by Yuji Horii

    Following the events of the Ohotsuku incident in 1987 (when the Famicom version is set), comes an all-new story set in 2024 and supervised by Yuji Horii. Unravel the mysteries of the Ohotsuku murders!

    The theme song “Ryuuhyou ni Kiyu Kirari” is written by Yuji Horii, composed by Hyadain, and sung by Shoko Nakagawa. This is also the first time Yuji Horii has written lyrics for a theme song.
