Square Enix released new artwork to celebrate the 9th anniversary of Bravely Second: End Layer for Nintendo 3DS. The art was illustrated by character designer Koudai Okamoto.
The first Bravely Default game released on October 11, 2012 in Japan as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. The success of Bravely Default lead to the creation of the Bravely series, which includes 2015’s Bravely Second: End Layer and 2021’s Bravely Default II. In Bravely Second: End Layer, players experience a story that happens directly after the events of the original Bravely Default.

In a tweet from the Bravely series Twitter account, new Bravely Second: End Layer artwork of Aimee Matchlock and Angelo OVO Panettone was released to celebrate the game’s 9th anniversary. Aimee and Angelo may be seen enjoying newly-cooked pancakes together.

Producer Tomoya Asano also briefly chimed in with a brief message, stating that he’s now an executive officer at Square Enix. Moreover, Asano hopes to meet the expectations of Bravely fans around the world in 2024.
This past February, Square Enix shared new artwork by Bravely and Octopath Traveler series illustrator Rina Yoshiura to celebrate the third anniversary of Bravely Default II. Asano also shared a message thanking fans and teasing that news about “some developments” for the Bravely series will be made in 2024.
Network servers for Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer were permanently taken offline on June 30, 2023. Online features such as Net Friend Invites and sending Nemeses are no longer be available in both games. Fortunately, both titles are playable to the very end, and StreetPass functionally remains available.
Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer are available now for Nintendo 3DS. Lastly, Bravely Default II, the latest Bravely title in the series, is available now for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
