    BLUELOCK Project: World Champion Game Releasing in English on April 23

    Rudel Inc. recently announced that the smartphone game, BLUELOCK Project: World Champion, will release in English on April 23. The game will likely be available on both iOS and Android.

    Kodansha initially began serializing the manga in 2018. Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura’s series focuses on the Japanese Football (Soccer) Team trying to become the best in the world after finishing sixteenth in the 2018 World Cup. The anime adaptation is available on Crunchyroll, and the manga is available on Kodansha’s website. Further, a movie based on the series recently premiered in theaters.

    Rudel Inc. has officially announced that the BLUELOCK smartphone game will be releasing in most regions on April 23. The game, titled BLUELOCK Project: World Champion, will be free-to-play with optional microtransactions. The developers describe it as follows: “This is a new type of soccer training simulation game in which players train strikers, build the strongest team, and compete in fierce games against rivals.” 

    Kodansha describes the original series as follows:

    After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?

    Lastly, BLUELOCK Project: World Champion will release in English on April 23. It will be available in most territories. Additionally, BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- is available to watch today in Japanese theaters. At the time of writing, the Western release date for the film is unknown. The film’s staff will likely confirm more details in the coming weeks and months.
