    Square Enix Appoints Naoki Hamaguchi & Tomoya Asano as Executive Officers

    Five new officers appointed on April 1.

    Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi and Team Asano lead Tomoya Asano were appointed as executive officers. Naoki Hamaguchi and Tomoya Asano are joined by new Square Enix executive officers Takamasa Shiba, Takeshi Nozue, and Takayuki Hamada.

    Final Weapon’s review of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth delves into a generational RPG that lives up to the iconic legacy of Final Fantasy VII. The game continues the polarizing story of Final Fantasy VII Remake and becomes even greater as Cloud and his allies venture a vast world in search of Sephiroth. As one of Square Enix’s latest titles, it’s also one of the most highly rated of all time for the company.

    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available now, exclusively for PlayStation 5. The title will be exclusive to the platform until May 29, 2024. A Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition are available to purchase now. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth‘s official soundtrack releases on April 10, and a special preview is now streaming. What’s more, Nobuo Uematsu is expected to compose the theme song for the third Final Fantasy VII Remake title, similarly to “No Promises to Keep”.

    In other news, SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu teases a potential release of SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered from Square Enix. Kawazu teased that fans should wait a little longer for a remaster announcement. Although Kawazu can’t announce SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered right away, he assures that fans won’t be disappointed if they wait.
