HIDIVE announced its major anime streaming website and app updates are now live with improved quality-of-life and a new look. Anime watchers may now enjoy offline viewing and customized watchlists.
HIDIVE has undergone multiple changes in the past year, including the shutdown of its streaming service in select regions outside of North America in December 2023. Fortunately, the service is undergoing more positive changes lately that will greatly improve the streaming experience for anime watchers.
HIDIVE Streaming Website and App Updates
The new HIDIVE website and app is now live with a sleek and simplified design, improved search options, and enhanced discoverability. This means that fans can easily select the latest simulcasts for Chained Soldier, catch up on recent seasons like The Eminence in Shadow Season 2, or watch classics like Lupin the 3rd.
Moreover, offline viewing is now available on the app, allowing fans to watch HIDIVE content when Wi-Fi or mobile data is unable (i.e. airplane travel). Customized watchlists are now readily available on the website and app with custom personalization options. In addition, the watch history feature lets fans rewatch anime more easily.
More features are currently being prepared to rollout in the coming weeks, including enhanced search, revamped subtitle preferences, customized profile and avatars, and much more. In the coming months, the HIDIVE app will be coming to even more TV platforms, according to the company’s blog post.
Similarly to Crunchyroll and Hulu, HIDIVE offers a wide variety of anime with English subtitles and voice-overs, including The Eminence in Shadow and Oshi no Ko. Moreover, the platform offers simulcasting with many popular series including Ragna Crimson and Helck, allowing fans to watch new anime episodes alongside the Japanese premiere.
HIDIVE is owned by Sentai Holdings, LLC alongside Sentai Filmworks. AMC Holdings acquired Sentai Holdings in January 2022. This past March, Sentai Filmworks and Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System signed a new partnership that gives HIDIVE access to MBS programming in global markets.
