In July 2023, it was confirmed that Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online Season 2 began production at Studio 3Hz. Tomori Kusunoki returns as Llenn, alongside other cast members from the first season. Moreover, Masayuki Sakoi is directing the anime series at Studio 3Hz.
