Capcom announced that the third DLC fighter for Street Fighter 6, Ed, will launch on February 27. In addition, a new trailer released by Capcom showcases the Fighting Pass that will be available alongside the character.
With over three million copies sold in roughly six months, it’s safe to say Street Fighter 6 is a rousing success for Capcom. Even more sales milestones will be achieved as Capcom continues to support Street Fighter 6 with updates and DLC. Ed is the next addition to the growing roster of Street Fighter 6, with Akuma following up at a later date.
Ed Storms Into Street Fighter 6 With a New Fighting Pass
Ed arrives on February 27 as the third Street Fighter 6 DLC character. Players may acquire the new character by owning the Year 1 Character Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition. Moreover, a new Fighting Pass will be available with free and premium rewards. One of the rewards includes the Captain Commando classic game. After Ed, the next DLC character is Akuma, the final DLC character for the Year 1 Character Pass. Akuma will release sometime in spring 2024.

More collaborations like the SPY x FAMILY collab should follow suit. In summer 2023, fans saw the TMNT collaboration release, with skins for all four of the turtles. While the outfits themselves are extremely high priced, it’s nice to see the game receive such exciting and thoughtful collaborations.
We reviewed the title back in June and gave it a 5/5, stating, “Street Fighter 6 may be the best traditional fighting game to release within the past 10 years or so.” After Akuma’s release, we’ll likely receive information on the roadmap for Year 2. Anywhere from four to five characters feels about right, and potentially some new stages as well.
