Mengo Yokoyari and Aka Akasaka’s Oshi no Ko manga series will receive a new live-action movie and TV series for Amazon Prime! The voice cast of the new projects have also been revealed.
In 2023, fans were delighted to hear that a second season of the Oshi no Ko anime series is coming in 2024. Although news about Oshi no Ko Season 2 is scarce lately, it appears that the series is gearing up for a huge influx of content over the next year.
Oshi no Ko Live-Action Film and Series for Amazon Prime
Amazon and Toei team up to produce the new Oshi no Ko live-action film for theaters in Japan, while the live-action TV series will be distributed globally on Amazon Prime. The TV series will premiere sometime in winter 2024. The following voice cast members have also been revealed in a new tweet from Asuka Saitō, the live-action voice actress for Ai:
- Nagisa Saitō (formerly of the =LOVE) as Ruby
- Asuka Saitō (formerly of Nogizaka46) as Ai
- Kaito Sakurai as Aqua
- Nanoka Hara as Kana Arima
- Mizuki Kayashima as Akane Kurokawa
- ano as Memcho
Fans may also look forward to a new Akane Kurokawa Nendoroid figure from Good Smile Company. A release date for the new figure was not announced, but it will likely release sometime in 2024.
New Oshi no Ko chapters typically release on Thursdays at 12:00 a.m. JST / Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. EDT. Fans may read new manga chapters on Manga Plus in English. In Japan, new chapters are available in Young Jump and other manga services.
