    Another Code: Two Memories – Chapter 1 Walkthrough

    Another Code: Recollection combines two cult-classic Adventure games into one, freshly-updated package for the Nintendo Switch. Enjoy a heart-touching journey full of mystery and personal growth with Ashley Robins. However, the nature of adventure games, with their focus on puzzles and exploration, can progress gate certain players.     Tips

    The goal of this guide is to provide players with assistance, but I also have some tips to share so that prospective players can have as full of an experience as possible.

    • Feel free to examine things and chat up characters to your heart’s content! This will give you a fuller experience with added details.
    • If you are still having some issues, feel free to turn on ‘Assist Mode’ and ‘Puzzle Hints’. These options guide you toward your next objective and help you out if a puzzle stumps you. However, using this guide will provide you with an experience of the game that allows you to witness the story unfold without any intrusive UI. Plus you don’t have to fiddle with the options if you do get stuck.
    • The DAS and your Inventory chronicle your journey. Check them out for details or to jog your memory. Need to further jog your memory? Use your ‘Backlog’ by pressing ‘R’. It contains ALL of the game’s dialogue via a script. You can even play the voice clips, too!
    • It is possible to skip clue-gathering segments with only the knowledge of the puzzle solution. 

    Another Code: Recollection -Two Memories- Chapter 1: Meet With D Walkthrough

    The chapter opens with story scenes. Once you regain control walk to the front of the boat and speak to Jessica. Select each dialogue option to learn more information. Take a photo if you selected the ‘Device’ option. During the conversation the ‘Biometrics’ dialogue option becomes available. After discussing each topic the story continues.

    On the Island Harbor, you can speak to the Captain, Jessica, and examine some items lying around. Walk towards the stairs opposite the boat to continue the story. Have a casual chat with the Captain and discuss all available topics. Continue the story after the conversation by continuing up the stairs.

    Follow the path until you come across a gate. Examine the gate. Turn around and walk towards the outlook to continue the story. Examine the ‘Handmade Stool’. Use the ‘L Stick’ to rotate the stool until you see a key. Use the ‘Gyro Controls’ to guide the key to the hole and dump it out. Return to the Locked Gate and unlock it by opening your inventory and using it.

    After traveling to the next area, press forward. You can examine some stuff on the way. Just past the second mineshaft entrance lies another story scene. Follow the path forward until you pass under an overpass, triggering the next scene. Walk up the first set of mansion stairs to be treated to the next scene. You can explore for a bit, but the next objective lies to the right of the ‘Main Gate’. Proceed to the next area.

    You’re treated to a cutscene. Next, you should continue forward to the next area. Continue down the path to start the next segment. Examine the three headstones before you. You can explore and examine things as much as you like in the graveyard. There are clues sprinkled about that help you figure out the upcoming puzzle. To the left of the three large headstones is a ‘Locked Wooden Door’, which we need to pass through. The clues in this area help you unlock it. Past some graves to the left of the ‘Locked Wooden Door’ is a ‘Toolshed’. Within it is a ‘Clover Stone Fragment’. To the right of the three large headstones are more graves. There is a path to the back row of graves right next to the ‘Gardening Tools’ directly to the right of the Thomas Edward headstone. At the far back of this path, past the William Wells gravestone is a grave with a ‘Sprout Stone Fragment’ on the ground near it. Slot the ‘Clover Stone Fragment into the large headstone of ‘Lawrence Edward’ and the ‘Sprout Stone Fragment’ into Thomas Edward’s headstone by accessing your inventory via the ‘Y’ button. Remember the orientation of the clovers on the headstones. Input the correct clovers, in left to right order, on the ‘Locked Wooden Door’. Use the ‘L Stick’ to do this. Open the door to get to the next scene. 

    Move the ‘Large Stone’ next to the door. View the next scene. Go through all of the dialogue with D. Continue to the next area through the door. Walk down the stairs and to the front door of the mansion. Examine the dropped item to trigger the next scene and puzzle/clue-gathering phase and some scenes. Go through all of the dialogue with D to begin the clue phase. You can speak to him for hints, however the clue is on the tiles in front of the door walkway. These darkened tiles represent the door knocker combination. Examine the door and use the sticks to put in the knocker code. No timing is required! Just knock them in order. Proceed through the door and view the next story scenes.
