    Monsters Anime Trailer Confirms January 22 Premiere and Cast

    A new trailer offers one last sneak peek.

    A new trailer for Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation confirms that the anime will premiere on January 22. The anime’s voice cast has also been revealed in a new update to the anime’s official website.

    During Jump Festa 2024, Netflix revealed that it will distribute the new Monsters anime worldwide on its streaming platform. This will be the first-ever anime adaptation of the Monsters Ippaku Sanjō Hiryū Jigoku one-shot manga by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.  Like Studio Colorido’s Burn The Witch #0.8 anime adaptation, the Monsters anime will only be one episode long.

    Shonen Jump’s official website for the Monsters anime was updated with a new trailer, revealing the January 22 premiere date for Netflix and the voice cast. These cast members include:

    • Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ryuma
    • Kana Hanazawa as Flare
    • Hiroki Tōchi as Cyrano
    • Mitsuaki Madono as D.R.
    • Katsuhito Nomura as Master

    Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 director Sunghoo Park will direct the new anime. Park is also in charge of composition with his new production studio, E&H production, animating the episode. Once more, the new anime will only feature one episode. 

     

    The Monsters one-shot manga was featured in Oda’s Wanted!, a collection of one-shots by the prolific One Piece creator. Shueisha first published the one-shot manga in a 1994 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Four years later, Shueisha published Wanted! in 1998. Monsters features Ryuma, a character that appears later in the One Piece manga.
