    Monsters Anime Coming to Netflix in January 2024

    New key visual revealed.

    Netflix announced the anime adaptation of Monsters Ippaku Sanjō Hiryū Jigoku by Eiichiro Oda is coming to the streaming platform as Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation. In addition, an exciting new key visual was revealed. 

    Alongside a plethora of news at the One Piece Day ’23 event, a surprise announcement came in the form of the Monsters anime adaptation. News has been scarce since the announcement in July, but more news was revealed ahead of Jump Festa 2024.

    Monsters Will Stream on Netflix

    The Monsters anime will premiere in January 2024 on Netflix, and ADN, Mediatoon, and Média-Participations will distribute the anime outside of Asia. Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 director Sunghoo Park will direct the new anime. Park is also in charge of composition with his new production studio, E&H production, animating the episode.

    The Monsters one-shot manga was featured in Oda’s Wanted!, a collection of one-shots by the prolific One Piece creator. Shueisha first published the one-shot manga in a 1994 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Four years later, Shueisha published Wanted! in 1998. Monsters features Ryuma, a character that appears later in the One Piece manga.

    Monsters takes us back in time to the story of the samurai Ryûma. Years before, a dragon horn with magical powers was stolen, and the samurai finds himself caught up in the catastrophe around that dragon’s horn, and the devastating appearance of a dragon in town…

    Jump Festa 2024 will run from December 16 to 17 with three main stage events. These events will feature the latest information about 37 active series, including One Piece, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, SPY x FAMILY, Bleach, Gintama, and so much more.
