    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth x Apex Legends Crossover Event Trailer Released

    New details on in-game items, rewards, and more.

    A new trailer for the Final Fantasy VII RebirthApex Legends crossover has released today! Details on the new cosmetics and items coming to the hit battle royale title are here, so let’s dive in! 

    The crossover will take place across three weeks, starting on January 9 and ending on January 30. You can first expect to find a new Limited Time Mode Takeover, which features the Buster Sword R2R5 and Matria hop ops. The Buster Sword will let you dash, block bullets, utilize a Limit Break, and much more! It’s a very powerful item that you can deal massive damage with. Materia Hop-Ups are also handy, featuring abilities like AOE (area-of-effect) lightning and HP Absorption. You can even have a SOLDIER Nessie fight alongside you in a match.

    That’s not all this crossover brings. You’ll find new skins inspired by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in the game, based on characters like Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Barret Wallace, Aerith Gainsborough, and Yuffie Kisaragi. There are a total of 36 new cosmetics for this collaboration, which you can obtain through Event Packs or in-game rewards. 

    Apex Legends is available across all major platforms, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin & Steam. The Apex Legends Final Fantasy VII Rebirth crossover was revealed at The Game Awards 2023, alongside the new theme song trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. Rebirth is the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, which took players up to the Escape from Midgar in 2020. This sequel will see the party venture into the world of Gaia and explore iconic locations from the original game. Such locations include the Gold Saucer, Corel, The Forgotten Capital, and so much more. 

    New battle mechanics include a Synergy Commands system that allows for combo attacks between party members. Speaking of the party, Yuffie, Cait Sith, and Red XIII will officially be playable in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine are in the game but will act as accompanying members until the third title in the remake project.
