    Published:

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama hopes to make “another big announcement in 2024 following the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, according to a year-end developer interview at Famitsu. Yokoyama hopes fans look forward to the new year, as it appears to be another notable year for the studio.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the next major game in RGG Studio’s prolific series, following after the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu both go to Honolulu, Hawaii for their own reasons, but the dual protagonists find out their motives are linked to the same person. This might not be the only game that RGG Studio wants fans to be aware of in 2024, however.

A Big Announcement After Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

While speaking with Famitsu, Yokoyama placed emphasis on 2024 being the Year of the Dragon. The Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth director reveals that he hopes fans look forward to the release of the game, and he also hopes to make “another big announcement” in 2024. This announcement will likely be sometime made after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s release.

Here’s what Yokoyama had to say, via Gematsu:

“This is my fourth year of the Dragon! I’m incredibly happy to be able to release Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which I put all my effort into, during such a year. While I’m looking forward to its release, I hope to be able to make another big announcement in 2024! Please stay tuned to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio in 2024!”

Lastly, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
