Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile is Shutting Down After Just Over a Year

No longer able to provide satisfactory service.

Just over one year after its launch, Square Enix confirms free-to-play mobile RPG Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile will be shutting down on March 29, 2024. In addition, in-game purchases have been completely disabled.

Launched on August 4, 2022, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile adapts the original story into a mobile RPG with new CG and animated scenes. The game would go on to receive multiple new playable characters, including Morgana, Joker, and Makoto from Persona 5 Royal. However, it appears that Square Enix determined that Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile would not be viable for the long term.

Square Enix Shutting Down Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile Permanently

In a new developer letter, Square Enix confirmed that Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile is shutting down, since the company will no longer be able to deliver satisfactory service. A similar reason was shared when Square Enix announced the global shutdown of Dragon Quest Tact. However, the developers received positive feedback regarding the story of Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile, so the story will continue in the form of a voice drama. Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile’s voice drama will be streamed sequentially in Q1 2024.
