Witch on the Holy Night Anime Film Trailer Coming December 31

    Published:

Ufotable has confirmed that a new trailer for the upcoming Witch on the Holy Night film will air on December 31. This will be a part of the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special 2023

The film was originally revealed two years ago today, on December 26, 2021. A 15-second preview was shown off, featuring Alice and Aoko walking through a field full of white flowers. News has been radio silent since then, but we’re finally now going to receive a new trailer and potentially a release date.

Witch on the Holy Night, or Mahoutsukai no Yoru, is set in the late 1980s and follows Aoko Aozaki, Alice Kuonji, and Soujyuro Sizuki. The film is based on the visual novel of the same name, which received an HD remaster last year with a voice cast. We reviewed the title and stated it “is an easy recommendation for those who are fond of visual novels.”

New Witch on the Holy Night Trailer Details

    Aoko Aozaki

Studio ufotable is responsible for the animation of this film. The studio has a long-standing relationship with Type-Moon, being responsible for the production of Fate/ZeroFate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel movie trilogy. Additionally, ufotable animated eight the Garden of Sinners movies. Alongside their Type-Moon works, the company is also known for their work on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

With this announcement, it is expected that the Witch on the Holy Night film will be released sometime in 2024. It’s yet to be seen if this project will end up being multiple films or just one, but based on the source material it seems likely at least one more film will follow the first.

Witch on the Holy Night is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Stay tuned for all the details on the upcoming trailer next Monday.
